Cristiano Ronaldo helps Edinson Cavani to get out of the field

Often we know that it is difficult to be selfless in times of personal difficulties in daily life.

This is the reason why we think that one of the images from the World Cup which is worth to be remembered is represented by the Portuguese champion Cristiano Ronaldo who lents a hand to his opponent the Uruguayan Edison Cavani.

At that moment, The Paris Saint-Germain’s player was surely the brace as the South American side booked their quarter-final place, scoring two amazing goals with the complicity of a great team-work job.

But on the 70th minute, television cameras picked up Cavani seemingly limping and clearly in a situation of discomfort struggle given by a a fitness issue, which forced him to leave the field.

Arguably one of the greatest player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, coming to the aid of a clearly injured Edinson Cavani, assisted him off the field so as he could receive treatment, in front of thousand of supporters who have filmed the scene.

Despite the fact some have suggested the Real Madrid star was just making sure Cavani wasn’t time wasting while the crowd in Sochi saw this is a phenomenal sporting gesture, we think that Ronaldo looked genuinely concerned for Cavani’s conditions, offering him a shoulder to lean on.

In a difficult period of selfishness and cynicism, we have realized that Ronaldo’s sportsmanship deserves an important position among our World Cup’s best moments stories.
